RTR Interactiv

RTR Interactiv

My final semester at Purdue is coming to a close and with it my senior project. For the past few months, myself and two other classmates have been working on an interactive GPU ray tracer that uses Nvidia’s OptiX Ray Tracing Engine.

We called our team RTR Interactiv, and we worked hard this semester to put together a product that can be used by lighters and rendering engineers to interactively change lights and materials in a 3D scene. Overall our project was a success, and we have begun to develop our own derivative project outside of the scope of the class. After graduation we’ll be working together to add new features to the project. Currently we are developing a UI and support for some more complex materials, such as real-time ambient occlusion shader and a phong shader that allows for blurry reflections.

I will continue to post updates about the project as we keep moving forward.
